A Special Sunday Funday

The biggest day of sports is finally here!!! Which is also the last day of football until August 😦

The New England Patriots vs the Seattle Seahawks – Brady vs the best defense in the league. This will no doubt be a better match-up than last year’s boring; blowout game.

Will Tom Brady and Belichick win their fourth Lombardi trophy? Can the Seattle Seahawks become the first team since the 04′ Patriots to win back to back Championships?

The last time these two teams competed against each other was during the regular season in 2012. It was everything you would expect … drama with an unexpected ending. The Seahawks came back and scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to win the game, 24-23.

Of course, it’s not football without any trash talkin’.. Richard Sherman and Tom Brady exchanged a few words during that game a couple of years ago. Sherman’s infamous phrase, “You made Bro” came after their victory. Although, there hasn’t’ been much talkin’ this week… both teams are extremely confident so you know this will be a great rematch!

you mad bro

You know, I’m still upset about what went down at Lambeau Field three weeks ago … [it was a catch!!! And we should be playing today!!!] haha. But I guess I’ll put my opinions aside and make my pick…

Super Bowl XLIX Champs ::: The Seattle Seahawks.

I hope you guys enjoy this Super Sunday. Be safe and have fun and eat/drink all you can!

Cowboys RUN the East

What a wonderful way to start off the Christmas week. The Dallas Cowboys have reached their [first] goal of the season … winning the NFC East division.

I think it’s safe to say, these Boys need to be taken serious … what do you think? They’ve officially crossed over the 8-8 hump, Romo is thriving in December [3-0] and the team is clicking on all cylinders … perfect timing, right!?

Now, if you know me you know;  I live for First Take. And you know this video made my year!!!

Playoff Talk:

The playoff picture won’t be set until after multiple games are played on Sunday. As of right now this is the NFC standings;

  1. Seahawks
  2.  Lions
  3. Cowboys
  4. Panthers
  5. Cardinals [1st wildcard]
  6. Packers [2nd wildcard]

The must-watch game will be the Packers/Lions. Whoever wins will either become 1st or 2nd seed and get a first-round bye. The loser, falls all the way to the sixth seed [and if the Cowboys stay at No. 3 – they will play them!] Of course, there’s a lot more scenarios that could happen … we just have to watch them play out on Sunday.

Last but not least —

The Holidays are my absolute favorite time of the year. I wish you and you’re family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! : )

Road To The Playoffs

With that dominating win against Philly last Sunday, the Cowboys and Eagles were tied for first place in the NFC East.

Christmas is coming a little early for a few teams in the NFC. Check out the new playoff picture, it’s starting to come together … thanks to Washington!

Eagles loss to the Redskins now means

  • Detroit Lions have clinched playoff spot.
  • Cowboys can clinch NFC East with a win on Sunday.
  • Seahawks can clinch playoff spot with win or tie.
  • Packers can clinch playoff spot with win or tie.

NFC East Showdown

Whether it’s the few extra days to prepare, the extra time to rest or just realizing how embarrassing their previous performance was, the Dallas Cowboys are ready to rewrite that Thanksgiving Day massacre against the Philadelphia Eagles.

After coming off a Sunday night game in New York, the Cowboys had only a couple of days to prepare for Chip Kelly and his fast-paced offence. Mark Sanchez played a nearly perfect game, the Eagles defense attacked Romo all night long and LeSean McCoy made it look too easy rushing for 159 yards.

This was the Cowboys worst game of the season. They scored a season low of 10 points and allowed their season high of 33 points. Romo wasn’t playing like Romo and the NFL leading rusher, Demarco Murray was held to just 73 rushing yards.
During interviews conducted by reporters on Dallascowboys.com this week; Romo and Dez Bryant both expressed how confident they feel about making sure this Sunday night showdown has a different outcome … I mean, they do know whoever wins, wins the division.

Romo – “Having a few more days off, I expect me and my team to be at our best on Sunday. Our football team understands where we are at in the season and why you play this game and it’s for games like these to give yourself a chance to do what you set out to do.”

Bryant – “I couldn’t wait to get into meetings, to watch film and look at these guys again. I can’t wait.”

eagles vs cowboys

If the Cowboys would like the storybook ending that everyone is hoping for … they have to come ready to fight. Starting first with the offense … clock control is the most important element this second time around. They have to stick with the running game, keep their defense and the Eagles offense off the field and create takeaways! Yes, it’s easier said than done but with all the weapons on the Dallas Cowboys roaster they definitely have what it takes to get this DUB.

Although I am a bit nervous, I do believe this team can dominate in this much anticipated rematch. It’s December, win or go home Boyz!

Who’s your pick?? Dallas or Philly??

One thing that I strive to do everyday is to read my Daily Devotional book. One of my favorites is by Joyce Meyer. It’s a great way to start your day in a positive light. Today’s passage spoke to me on several levels and I wanted to share it with you guys. I’ve also included two other inspiring quotes.

I hope it gives you the extra push and encouragement to continue to work towards your goals and dreams. #Stayhungry and don’t give up!
